I WANT TO SHARE THAT GIFT WITH OTHERS THROUGH MY MITZVAH PROJECT.
As a dancer for most of my life, I had a closet full of recital costumes that I only wore once and have always wondered if someone else could use them. I remember walking with my Grandma, explaining that it was such a waste to let all those costumes sit in my closet when I was sure there were girls out there just like me that would love to have them but couldn’t afford to buy them.
My grandma encouraged me to look into different dance schools that could use these once worn costumes. During my search, I came across the Traveling Tutus, an organization that gives children all around the world a chance to dance.
THEY COLLECT, PACKAGE AND SHIP NO LONGER NEEDED DANCE COSTUMES AND CLOTHES TO CHILDREN ALL OVER THE WORLD, GIVING THEM A CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF DANCE.
I contacted the Traveling Tutus right away and was not only amazed that they would take all my costumes and gently used dance clothes, but they were willing to take as many items as I could collect. I sent out an email to my entire dance studio telling them about the Traveling Tutus and explaining that it would be amazing to donate old recital costumes to children all over the world that needed them. They loved the idea and offered to pitch in.
I’m currently setting up a collection drive at my studio where people can drop off gently used dancewear and costumes.
I'M SO EXCITED TO GIVE THE GIFT OF DANCE TO SO MANY KIDS THAT NEED IT. I’M SO INSPIRED.
Please check out the Traveling Tutus website https://www.travelingtutus.org. If you’re interested in donating or how you can learn more about this amazing cause and bring joy to dancers in need, everywhere.
Dancing is a huge part of my life and has helped me in so many ways, including building my confidence and helping me to express myself.
